Whereas I'm more in this camp: Hiss, scratch.  Turn the bloody thing over every 15 minutes.  The only good thing about vinyl is the packaging, which is much more rewarding than anything since.  But sound quality, you're all dreaming.

If you are talking about pop and affordable vinyl absolutely!  High end vinyl, like  Deutsche Grammophon where an album could easily cost 100+ Euros, no comparison.  Ironically pointless to me because I am not willing to shell out that kind of money for records or turntables.

I am restoring my old analog equipment, including my Technics SL-1900 turntable and have also eyes an Audio Technica AT-LP120XUSB Direct Drive USB Turntable so I can digitalize my vinyl collection and also a TASCAM 202MKVII Dual Cassette Deck with USB to digitalize my cassettes ...
Issue for me is that some of the good stuff, is 'Pick Up Only' and the speakers I am after, the guy wont budge to ship to my freight forwarder  :-[
