I got these a few days ago. They are DP Mirrors with Integrated LED signals. They are absolutely gorgeous and I can't install them. I was able to successfully fit the left one, but the right bushing wouldn't screw in. I checked the instructions (yeah, I hadn't yet) and it turns out they mark them to tell right from left. Of course I had placed the left on the right, but then that one wouldn't fit the right!!. I have a box-full of goodies and these are #1 on my install list. Please help, before I run outta vacation days. I gotta finish in time to enjoy it all dolled up (the bike, I mean. gimme a break...).
2005 S4R, Rizoma Lux Grips/Bar Caps, ASV Shorty Levers, DP LED Mirrors, CF Headlight Brackets, Rizoma Clutch Cover/Pressure Plate, Stebel Nautilus horn (139db!), Rizoma Sprocket Cover, EK Chain (Red), Shift-Tech CF Chain Guards/Rear hugger, CW Tail Chop, LED Brake Light, Watsen Design tail signals, Zard Full Exhaust. My wife was OK with the bike until I started spending money on Her, not her... Now I just call her Francesca and say she's my Italian mistress.

this probably would've been best in "Tech" or "Accessories & Mods," but at any rate, if you got the stock right hand mirror off then you must've noticed that it was reverse-threaded...maybe you're just turning it the wrong way to put the new one?  ???

the screws on the mirrors should be of different threads...left sided thread and right sided thread on alternative sides...

Try screwing it in backwards...

Thanks, ppl. You guys hit the nail on the head! Needless to say I felt like a POS when it started to screw the opposite way around, but then again, why do Italians have to get creative about everything!

Creative? What do you think will happen if you could screw it in the other way? (think wind).

+3 for people who are posting "how do i" in a "how to." im keeping count.

If wind was the reason, then screwing counterclockwise would mean the wind would loosen the thing. It coming front the front would cause an opposing force clockwise (unscrew). Again, creative. Sorry about the mis-post, I didn't mean to enter the competition.

I have the same mirrors and went through the same thing...turns out that whoever wrote the instructions labeled the mirrors left and right while standing in front of the bike looking back rather than on the bike looking forward.  [bang]
