Hey guys, I have an 07 S2R 1000, Full Arrow system  and 2400 miles on the bike. The bike has run flawless up until this week. While Driving the bike at highway speeds (about 4000 rpm) the bike just cuts out with no warning. the Wrench light flashes and I have to pull to the side of the road and crank the bike and it will restart after like 30 seconds. It acts like someone is just shutting off the key. The dash still has power  but it just cuts the engine out, no check engine light on after it restarts.  It has done it at lower speeds also but it gets scary on the highway at spots where there is no median strip. The bike has the stock ecu, no mods except for the exhaust. I have checked the grounds on the engine and wiring as best as I can. Any help would be appreciated.  I know the bike is under warranty but I am an hour and a half from my dealer and they are backed up. I am actually a mechanic so If it is something minor I should be able to fix it. Thanks for any help. Joe

Only things I can think of are battery connections and side stand switch.  The stand switches can have problems, causing a false indication to the ecu that the stand is down and bike in gear, thus killing the engine.  Not sure exactly how to diagnose it, unless it happens and you kick or jiggle the stand (worked for me once).

I will check it out, the battery connections all looked good. I will check out the switch on the kick stand. Thanks

Kick stand switch ok and battery terminals and grounds good.

Does it matter how much fuel you have in your tank?

Next time you fill up, see how long you can go before your stall. MIght be a clogged/blocked vent line issue.

Not sure if this will help, but the symptoms you describe sounds like those  a friend had on his 1098.  His bike had a bad rectifier, which was draining the battery.

Might be worth a shot.  GL.

Actually, when it started doing it I had about 1/3 a tank of fuel. I Topped the fuel tank off with good fuel and
it cut out again about a mile down the road. Just for info purposes I got rid of the nasty charcoal canister and rerouted the vent hose from the tank but I dont think it is pinched or anything. I will check it out though. Thanks

Exactly the same thing happened with me.  Mine got to the point where it wouldn't start at all.  The ECU fuse was blown.  But what caused it to blow is unknown.  My guess is maybe water in or near the key housing.  Mine cut out around 4000 RPM, on a busy highway.  Luckily I was in the left lane and coasted to the median.  At that point it would turn over but not start.  I lifted the tank, and seat and jiggled wires and it started - I shut it off with the kill switch - it restarted - I shut it off with the key - no restart.   Towed it to gf's house, trailered it to the local shop for the 6K service and they found the blown fuse.

I swear I checked all the fuses while sitting on the side of the road, so it must have blown when I switched the key off - but that's complete speculation.

Please let us know what you find.
