Need to talk to person who has used many different helmets

I'm in the market for a new helmet since I sold my HJC Carbon. I'm actually looking at the Ben Spies replica Carbon HJC in a medium or small.
Here is what I'd like to know...
Who has had the oportunity to use many different types/brands of helmets?

I ask, because if a person has only had 1 or 2 helmets, even if they really like them, they don't have much to compare to. I already know fit is paramount. I get that. Thing is, Shoei, Arai, Suomy, Vemar, AGV, make different size/shapes. Here's what I'm looking to gain...

Which has the best balance of vent vs. noise vs. weight?

So far, I think I would fit into a small Arai profile but it would be rather snug, better for racing really. Or I could do a medium Corsair.

Thoughts?
Thanks,
Steve

I'd have to find the site, but there is one that has reviews and specs on each brand of helmet.  They talk about noise due to vents, have graphs showing weight, etc, etc.  I'm about to leave right now, but there is definately full comparo type information for what you are seeking.

reviews, specs, videos, all kinds of info!!!!!!  And you can talk to them.

can they answer my questions about the russia/georgia conflict?  or tell me if the chinese gymnastic girls really are like 12 years old?  maybe i'll give them a ring.

and just to add my 2cents, i've had a couple scorpions now (for like $120) and liked them just fine.  it passed my personal crash test...though the entry level scorpion can be somewhat noisy, and the venting isn't "super-terrific".

I have a helmet that I can sell you.

It's a Shark RSX, size M.  I personally have owned an Arai RX-7 and an HJC...something.  Can't remember.  I sold L'Smart my RX-7.  Then I bought the Shark RSX.  It is lighter than the Arai, and vents just as well in my opinion, and is just as quiet as the RX-7 is (caveat: while wearing earplugs...which I did in both the RX-7 and the RSX).

I personally love this helmet.  I loved it so much that I bought two.  Now I have no bike, so no need for the helmets...I'm determined to stay off of 2 wheels for a while (WTF, over).

I've sweated in this one twice.  Other than that, it's as good as new, except for some scratches on the front where it got dropped on my driveway.  If you're interested in it, I can email you some pictures.  Or you can go look it up on the Shark helmet website...it's the Shark RSX Eagle 08 (there's an 08 and an 07 version...so don't get it confused.  It's the black one).  Bought it for a little over $600.  Not looking for $600 for it for sure, so if you're interested, lemme know, and we can talk price.

I've got several Arais, & really like them!
Good fit, quiet, well-vented, etc... [thumbsup]

Think globally, buy locally. Go to Moto Liberty & talk to the pros.
What you'll get here (DMF) is opinion...
Gotta try 'em on [thumbsup]

Ya let Peter measure head.

WonderBoy

I concur with that.

Anything that protects your head at the right time is a good helmet!  [thumbsup]

You already know that helmets come in different shapes and that not every brand fits every head.
