All,
Just got off the phone with the owner of the dealership.  They state the following:

On their demo bike, they installed the DPECU, but it ran like crap...B/c at the time they didn't know about the coil problem, so they put the stock ECU back on.  The tech who did my 'install' was aware of this and did not do the DPECU install, as he was not aware of the coil fix.
I am totally pissed about this.  Especially b/c I asked 3 times, and they looked like I was a nutcase.  The owner is personally picking up my bike in about 2hours to work on it himself.  We will see what they are going to do for me; but at this point in time my biggest worry is how are they going to deal with any issues that may come down the line ?  Also, I don't believe I should be paying for the install to begin with.

We will see......

sounds like bs...   so basically at worst they were ripping you off and lying about it.  at best they are just incompetent.  very nice, what dealer is this?

So this is what I am telling them:

- Do the job properly.  This includes rechecking the valves, oil change, etc
- Be sure to replace all missing bolts.
- Refund all $$ associated with the install that I was charged
- In writing, detail what happened, and why.  Including why when questioned if it were the right ECU, why I was
  lied to.
- In writing, state that they will warranty any unforseen problems that this may cause in the future (they have
  already agreed to this).

I am still contacting Ducati NA to let them know what is going on here.

Sounds like you are handling it pretty well. Also sounds like the kind of ducati service I seem to get locally.  :-\

At least tell us where you are! I don't trust my local dealer for crap, they had a 17 year old working on my bike and told me I needed a new rear brake setup because the light wouldn't go on when the pedal was pressed. Turns out the pedal was loose. 30 second fix with a allen wrench...
