I know a guy that just sold his Desmosedici on e-bay.  The bike only had about 12 miles on it and went for $61,000 - nearly $20k off!  If I'd have known I could get one that cheap I'd have gone for it.  I know a couple of other guys that have them, and they're indeed very cool bikes.  A highly collectible snapshot of what the 990 GP bikes were all about.  And the sound!  The V4 bark from the Corse undertail exhaust can't be believed.  I'm definitely going to try to swing a ride on one when i get the chance.  The guy that I know who sold his put it up with no reserve!  He did the same with his 1098R and let it go for only $32k, an $8k hit below his purchase price.  The guy broke his wrist in a silly getoff on his Tricolore and is now having a "fire sale" on all his bikes, which number something like 90 bikes if the rumors are to be believed.  Keep your eyes on e-bay because you'll likely see some really trick stuff come up.  I know he's got a few Bimotas to sell too.
If it's got two wheels and a motor, I like it!

He's not the guy w/ the Honda RC30 for sale is he?

Not sure, but I wouldn't be surprised.  Supposedly he's got quite the collection and I wouldn't be shocked at all if he had an RC30.  He just sold a Bimota locally for $20k under his purchase price.  The strange thing is that this guy has really been mostly a collector for quite a while and never came across as an avid rider or anything more than a very casual rider, so why not continue the collecting and just stop the riding if it scares him so much?  I can't see how the passion for collecting valuable bikes would diminish by not riding anymore.  Oh well, weirdness.  I believe his e-bay seller name is bernsteinjade so keep your eyes peeled for some good deals.

I've seen Jeff Nash and also Kevin Schwantz ride a Desmo at the track... Very impressive [thumbsup]
