I’m working with what I have so far. Not a lot of accessories for this bike yet, but I think it has a lot of potential. It just needs some time. I'd really like to hear any suggestions. Thanks! :)

I saw one roll by the other day on the street.  I'd say I like it better than I did the first time I saw it in the showroom.  It still feels like too much of a departure from the original but it's growing on me.

Very nice but I find myself feeling like I'm looking at a modded older monster instead of a modded new monster.  [thumbsup] I guess that's the point though?  [thumbsup]

Thanks for the open minded comments. I've never owned a monster before and I can understand why people that own the original style want to keep it up on a pedestal. It's a beautiful bike. But I think with time the new body style will have it's own identity. :)

I like just about everything about the 696 except the swingarm. So what're you going to do about that?

I'm not sure what I can do to it. What would you suggest?

I would still like to see the headlight about an inch farther out.   And have it fit a 6'2" body better.

Thanks! Yes, I have seen them. They sound good, but I think the ex-box would clear out the space between the tire and seat and would give the 696 a hole different look.

I hear ya. If you get a chance pull the cans off to give yourself an idea how it might look.

I thought of the same exact thing when i saw this bike...it has a ton of potential. I have trouble telling people that sometimes though...meaning there are definitly some parts that dont exactly make the bike look all the great, and when i tell people that, they start to wonder why i bought it in the first place. But anyways, this is my first bike. Ive been around bikes forever and i think i have a keen eye for what works and what doesnt work for bikes....so i look foward to making mine stand out from the rest, in a good way.

Your 696 looks great!  I'd leave the front hugger on though.  Since you're going for a blacked out look, anodizing the forks would be sweet.

I'm not sure what else you can do to it, the model itself is still in the teething stages.  I can't wait to see what people dream up for the new platform [thumbsup]

I actually did put the front fender back on today. It does look better. I'd like to make the forks black too, but I've never attempted to take them off of any other bike before so I don't really know how in depth it is. Is there anything I can do to change the color w/o removing them?

I did think about it but my girlfriend and son would both kill me. They like riding. It would look great though. Maybe someday.
