So, it's possible for someone to get in on the GB that wasn't on the list before all of this?

If so I've got an S4RS that's looking for a set also my MV Senna, you could put me down for 2 sets if they can handle the variation.

How do you know this?

they told me that now with them not being able to get the full order that the group buy is over and that the odds aren't good for things to change. Regardless of that, SATO rearsets have just increased in price thus making it impossible for them to get us the parts at the price that was guaranteed. Again, I'm tired of waiting and they led me to believe the situation will not be changing. I just told them I wanted my money back. I'm sorry I dropped out of the group buy but at this point I really have no faith in this company, and will be much happier when the refund posts to my account. (yes I'm checking it daily) But this is also why I'm trying to set up a new group buy, so that I can possibly help everyone that is caught up in this situation.

But like what was posted before, the first mistake was identifing the vendor in the thread. All dealers agree to NOT sell a product below a certain point.
If the dealer caught wind of that they WILL as posted stonewall them. Its a big deal to the companies that the vendors aren't cutting each others throats and selling products that low.
AND with only 7 sets in stock, and NO mention of what color they have it would be impossible for us to fulfill the order and when we fall below the minimum quantity we loose the better price point.
AND on top of all that any NEW order will have a new price on the rearsets and I BET you will see any in-stock sets reflect that price also.

BUT here is the thing that bothers me, TWICE now I have called them and TWICE they have said....yeah we need to post something up to give people a heads up. Yet they don't. They are hiding, and I now with what has been mentioned with the price increase I think they are just hoping it all goes away and people just ask for the money back.

carman, I will ask about what they can do for your MV.

But yes this is completely different, the price has changed and we will be dealing with a new vendor, if you want in you are more then welcome. Everything will be handled through them at the appropriate time.

So you dropping out of the group buy caused them not to have enough people participating?

no...I think Sato not having anywhere near the required number of rear-sets or wanting to sell them (which would piss off the other vendors) would be the main reasons! There are at least 12 of us buying, so Jeese dropping out cannot be the reason.

I've asked for a refund for The Don and myself. Being down here makes us more susceptible...not like I can hope on the bike and go 'talk it out'.

No, the fact that they don't know what they're doing is causing people to drop from the GB.

As an aside, it's not like Cycle Sector is quiet about doing group buys for Sato - see here

Not to crap in anyone's group buy organization, but if things fall apart and there are those who are just looking to get a set of Satos for a great price as an individual without all the hassle of ten other folks being involved, I recommend giving Dan Kyle a call.  (866) 667-4925

Epic Group buy fail
That's okay - I used the money to buy a new chain, sprockets, and some other goodies from CA Cycleworks.  [thumbsup]

OK, I want to assure anyone still considering the group buy that the new vendor is a trusted ducati parts dealer and things will go MUCH smoother.

[thumbsup] Thats where I got mine.

On another note. I really dont see what the big deal is about these Sato's. I have seen better, & ones with more adjustment.

I seen some really nice adjustable Rearsets at the track the other day. A guy that comes up from Blaine, Washington to Race his 650 SV sells them.  http://stores.ebay.com/SV650-Racing-Partsy. $260 bucks. Fully adjustable. I talked to 2 guys that have them on there bikes (both were Suzuki's) They liked them.
For a few dollars more he get them anodized to what ever color u want.

He said that they are going to start making them for Ducati's. Not sure how serious he was about that. It might be worth giving him a call tho.
