Very truly a tragedy, my (and I think all our) heart goes out to his family.

And just my .02 worth, but I don't buy into that stuff about going out doing what you love.  I love motorcycling so much that I don't want to ever tarnish it by being another statistic for people to wag their finger at.  I want to ride until I'm too old and gnarled to twist the throttle, and then go out peacefully dreaming about all the great riding and racing I did in this lifetime.  As I fade out, I want to close my eyes and see my gf and I riding off into the sunset on our Multistrada, packed to the hilt and ready for another great adventure.
If it's got two wheels and a motor, I like it!

As much as I want my sons to come riding with me someday, stories like this make me think...........

Don't forget that he was killed in a race, amidst a level of competition that most of us will never be involved with personally.  It's not the same as a trackday, even though it can happen then as well.  It's an all out race.  Closer quarters and higher speeds.

Sorry to get argumentative in a reflective thread, but part of the joy of any motorsport or risky activity is reaching the end without injury.  What we love doing has nothing to do with crashing or being hit.  People say that a lot, but it just doesn't make sense to me.  Again, sorry.

+1 it's a trite, overused expression that is essentially meaningless.  People love driving/riding/flying whatever; they generally don't love dying in horrible crashes.

I hope no one ever says it about me, unless I die while banging a chinese hooker.

Very sad news :'(

Thoughts to his family and friends.
