How about Brake Upgrades on an S4R?

Yes, I think you're right: the 999 had axial calipers.  The 999r and some of the later 999s models had radial calipers though.  I bought the calipers used, and I think the ad said they came from a 999s (or was it a 749r?) but I can't remember for sure.  In any case, last time I checked they were plentiful on eBay for reasonable prices.  In fact, used axial 4-pad calipers were going for the same price as used radials when I got mine.  I think the axial 4-pads are harder to find used.

probably because they are an awesome upgrade that bolts straight on to a LOT of different bikes!!
