I found it playing around with my exhaust and it just droops down.  At first I thought it was some sort of drain tube but want to make sure here that it isn't something disconnected.  Anyone?

Yep, it's the overflow hose from your tank.  IF you lifted the thank and traced up you'd find it connected to a couple barbs at the bottom of the tank.  From the factory it was run to the carbon emissions canister... which most folks promptly ditch.

So it's not something I should be concerned about?  I guess just leave it there dangling?

No major concern.

You'll want to route it where it won't be touching up on your headers or have the possibility of dripping on them, since it will drip gasonline... (where's that fire smiley when you need one).  So just keep the gas factor in mind when you fuss with it and you should be fine.

I've snaked mine between the case and the end of my swing arms to keep it out of the way.  But both my monsters were/are dual sided swing arm models - so YMMV

   Not to change the subject but hows the exhaust sound like that? Ive got a very similar bike and want to do something to make it louder without dropping 1000 buck on an exhaust. I dont know if I want to run just the udder...... Change performance at all?

The sound of the exhaust with just the udder is loud as hell.  A bit too loud for my liking actually.  I put the S pipes back on and it actually sounds decent.  I don't think it's on par with a nice set of termis or other after market exhausts but still decent.  Now I'm in the process of trying to make it look decent by painting everything black.  Some people suggest coring the mufflers but that's not something I have the resources or motivation to do as of yet...
