This is an unconventional topic I guess, but I was about to order some apparel... Specifically the 2008 GP Replica Sweatshirt and I was wondering what size I should order, considering Ducati does euro-sizing as far as I know. These things are pricey enough for it to warrant some research before ordering. I would normally use US MED and I've heard I should go one size over. I have a summer armor vest that I might wear under this so if it turns out to be a tad slack then that's ok. I also might get T's... same thing there. I appreciate any feedback from people who've already bought some of this stuff.
2005 S4R, Rizoma Lux Grips/Bar Caps, ASV Shorty Levers, DP LED Mirrors, CF Headlight Brackets, Rizoma Clutch Cover/Pressure Plate, Stebel Nautilus horn (139db!), Rizoma Sprocket Cover, EK Chain (Red), Shift-Tech CF Chain Guards/Rear hugger, CW Tail Chop, LED Brake Light, Watsen Design tail signals, Zard Full Exhaust. My wife was OK with the bike until I started spending money on Her, not her... Now I just call her Francesca and say she's my Italian mistress.

Some of Ducati apparel is sized s, m, l, xl, xxl, xxxl, xxxxl . The XXXXL is a 60 EU which is a 50 US . The XXXL, is a 58 EU, 48 US . The XXL is a 56 EU, 46 US. The XL, is a 54 EU, 44 US. The L, is a 52 EU, 42 US. The M , is a 50 EU , 40 US. The S is a 48 EU , 38 US .

Ducati's sizes tend to be on the smaller size. To say buy one size larger than you normally buy is wrong. You must try on an item to know for sure if it is going to fit you.

Ducati like many other so called "Italian " brands have different apparel items made in different countries to their specifications.

For instance, Dainese makes most of Ducati's leather apparel ( if not all ) and Dainese has their leather apparel made in different countries to their highest standards.

Thus sizing is tricky but not difficult once you find the size that fits you you will always  be able to buy based on that size .

If you wear for instance a size 50 EU in a Ducati leather Jacket ,then you would wear a size 50 EU in a Dainese Jacket , top  or sweatshirt. That would be a US 40 or a Med. Always best to try on apparel if possible.  Dolph

I suggest that you try it on.  I have a Dainese leather size 58 and a Dainese textile size 52.  They both fit the same!  Go figure.

Does anyone know if Alpinestars size and numbers correspond to the ducati ones described here?
Is that a standard of sorts... as much as there is any kind of standard.
