I am in a similar boat where my throttle hand is iffy depending on the day.

I am hoping to make it through the winter season and then buy a used car next year. You guys might remember my Lotus, s2000, M Coupe thread etc.

Hopefully I can split time between the bike and the car so I can continue to ride  :(

FROM THE ABOVE LINK:

Origin

This modern-sounding phrase is in fact at least as early as Shakespeare. He used it in Othello, 1604:

Iago:
"I am one, sir, that comes to tell you your daughter and the Moor are now making the beast with two backs."

Shakespeare may have been the first to use it in English, although a version of it appears in Rabelais' Gargantua and Pantagruel, circa 1532. This was translated into English by Thomas Urquhart and published posthumously around 1693:

"In the vigour of his age he married Gargamelle, daughter to the King of the Parpaillons, a jolly pug, and well-mouthed wench. These two did oftentimes do the two-backed beast together, joyfully rubbing and frotting their bacon 'gainst one another."

Dude, he said [bacon] [bacon]..................in 1532. [laugh]

I wonder if they had forums back then for modding your horse or wagon....
"nice leatherfiber bridle!!"
"Thanks, man. Wait till you see my new Wagon-Cat running boards. They're awesome. I might make WOMB this month." ;D

there was going to be something humorous here, but, unfortunately, i was in charge of the typing, and this is all i could come up with.

1) You people need to learn how to use the "search" function. Odds are if you've seen it in five thousand places, there's probably an explanation.

2) You people can jack someone else's thread. I is in pain here-yer lack of general Shakespearean knowledge makes me head hurt to match me back.

Also, while I know this is a Ducati board, let's be clear-I don't want another Ducati right now. They require servicing too often for the amount I ride. When the cost of service in one year approaches the value of my car-that is an issue.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

So your car is worth $600  ???

You're suppose to get it serviced every 15 to 20k right :-\

4 services in one year=$2400 on a four valver. Add in tires, etc, and we're basically at the cost of my Falcon.

Dunno your skill set but I had the impression you're a bit mechanically-inclined ... so DIY on the service is out of the picture?

Or am I confirming to everyone reading this just how mechanically lacking I am in not realizing how absurd DIY is?  ;D

He Man

Get a 2-valver.  (Hyper.  They're excellent for replacing fire-damaged 4v Ducs.   ;D )

And if you're riding 24-make the beast with two backsing-thousand miles per year, when do you have time to drive a car??

So I missed my 6k and my 12k and got my valves and belts done at 14k and now I am at 20k =)

So in 20k I am out $600 plus tires. I will get my valves done again at 24k

But I hear ya Someguy. If my body holds up I can see myself riding a 08 250 Ninja in the future.  70 plus mpg  [thumbsup]
