Stupid tank prop question

[roll] Okay, you can laugh, I know it's stupid, but... how does the prop rod fit under the seat?  I did a search and tried what was suggested, but there is no way it will fit on my bike!  Is the rod supposed to be bent/curved?  (mine is)  The curve in the rod makes it impossible to fit into the clips and still be able to put the seat down.

A picture would be awesome, if anyone has one!  TIA!

I've never seen one curved, I think that's your problem.
...CRG bar-ends, DIY tail chop, open clutch cover, open timing belt cover, stainless clutch springs w/black caps, Bitubo top-mount steering damper, 14-t front sprocket, integrated LED smoked tail light, clear front mini signals, full Termi exhaust, DP open airbox, DP ECU, suspension tuned by DucPond Racing, flipped handlebars, titanium Rizoma reservoirs, DIY chopped bikini fairing, DucDual headlights w/halos, mini CF rear chain guard, pro-grips, misplaced emissions canister...

I got a new seat and tossed that thing in the closet.  If i need to prop up the tank I use whatever random object is in arms reach.  [thumbsup]

Cucciolo beat me to it, but I was going to ask the same.  Since mine is bent, it will never have the same strength as an unbent one.   :-\

There's a prop rod under the seat?

Huh

I've been using a 2x4.

Holy shit, is there a chop saw somewhere on your bike???? lol you using it to cut wood there? lol
That tank is jacked so high, id be afraid the tank hinge would snap on me.

I use a broom stick, 2x4 hammer, long ass screw driver, etc. whatever is in arms reach.

I think it's just the angle that made it look like that.

It didn't actually tilt that far back.  I don't think it would even go back far enough to touch the rubber pad behind the hinge.

Actually, wait.  I bet the fire let the fuel hoses stretch and the tank fell back.  The hoses were what used to limit how far it could open.

It'd help to know whether it's a Schwinn Sting Ray or a Ducati, and if a Ducati, what model and year.

I didn't realize they were different depending on Ducati Monster model/year...

Mine's a 2002 Ducati Monster 900ie.
