I've had it with the stock headlight.  2 nights in a row, I almost get taken out by a dear while hauling buttocks on my s4rt.

I'd like a light bright enough to light a cat on fire at 100 yards.

I was thinking gsxr 1K light, but they look so unfinished from the side, it's hideous.  Is there anyway to take the stock plastic fairing, and fiberglass to it?  I need a surround or some sort of housing to make the sides of the light look decent.  If I could take a wrecked front fairing, and chop off what I didn't need, then glue foam/glass to it, shape, etc...I think I could come up with something that would work.

Then again, if something like this is already been made, it might be cheaper/less time for me to just buy it.

Another idea/option is to keep the bucket, and retro-fit a bixenon projector from a s class benz or similar in there.  Problem is I'd need a clear lense.

There are some HID kits out there that are design for motorcycles and will work easily on the Duc.  The biggest problem is finding somewhere to mount the ballast so it doesn't look like shit.

But even with Trogdor mounted to your bike, hauling ass anytime around or after sunset is asking for deer trouble.

problem with just throwing a HID bulb in there is the beam pattern/cutoff will be terrible.  If HID is the way, then it needs to be a projector at a minimum.  Some projectors take to HID well (999's for example has a great cutoff pattern).

Real trick would be to use a bi xenon projector from a car, but you still need a housing to keep moisture off the innards.

Is there a clear lens for the monster headlight available somewhere?

I have no idea.  But if you're going to put an HID projector on the bike, you're gonna need a little more than a smooth lens.
