I have the opportunity to purchase a 1990 906 PASO with 30k miles and a couple of minor issues.
The price is good.
Anyone have any experience with these bikes that can tell me what to look for/change/run away from?

my buddy had one until a few months ago.  it was fun to ride but he had constant carb troubles.  I even like the looks...go for it

Hmmm . . . Thanks.
Looks like you either mod the swingarm, or go up to 17" wheels.

Anything else?
The carbs have been changed to Dell'ortos, so that's probably o.k.
It needs a starter button, but I figure I can mod one from another type of Duc.
Wiring I can do.

I always thought they were cool..... thought it was a 907 though??

naw, 907 was the successor to the 906, came out in '91, had the 17" wheels.

16" wheels issue enough to avoid 906, no tyres avaliable... :(

The 907IE is an option, though! :)

The bikes are pretty cool and you don't see many of them around. The 906 is not as desireable as the 750 and especially the 907. The 907 is regarded as THE Paso to own. The 906 was heavier than the 750 without enough HP gain to justify purchasing them. As stated elsewhere, tires are impossible to find right now, so alternate tires or a 17" wheel conversion would be necessary when it needed tires (I have everything needed to do a 17" conversion on my 750 Paso). As for the Delortos, they were the most common modification until people started to do the Mikuni modification......for the starter button, how is it acting or not acting? Some people have thought that they had a kill switch issue until it was learned that a voltage drop to the coils was preventing the bike from starting and the wiring mod on the http://forums.ducatipaso.org site helps a lot in this case (I've done it to my bike).
