Hi all -
My 750 has an occasional sputter. It's very infrequent and feels like it misfires occasionally, as if it stalls and immediately continues. The bike just went over the 20k mark and was recently gone over by the dealership. The problem started after the servicing. I'm guessing checking the sparkplug, fuel filter, fuel overflow tube would be in order. If this was your bike, where would you start and how would you proceed?

Gator

what are the RPM's when it "sputters"?

If you are slowing down or running at low rpms you might need to downshift.

If it is a fuel injected bike, maybe check the TPS.  The electrical contacts can get dirty & worn or it could need to be adjusted.

Water in the fuel?, have a look at the fuel filter, but if it's just been serviced that should be okay, drain out all your fuel from the tank into a clear container leave it for an hour and check for water sitting on the bottom, if you find some, throw out that fuel, rinse out your tank with some methylated spirit or ethanol ( this will mix with the water) and put in fresh fuel. Give it a good run then change the fuel filter.
Have a look at the plug caps, are they tight on the top of the plug?

Other than that, go over every accessible electrical connection, check for tightness, corrosion, unplug and replug every one you can get to.
Good luck, these sort of intermittent faults can be a PITA to find.

cheers! thanks for the thorough overall. The bike is fuel injected and the RPMs are hovering static (cruising) around 5500. I don't run the bike hard, so maybe I should a little bit once in a while.
