I made the mistake of watching Diary of the Dead a couple days ago.  What a crap movie.  Constant poor decisions by everyone involved, yet somehow this is the only Romero zombie movie where the protagonists are alive at the end.  Makes me yearn for a real zombie invasion so I can show 'em how its done :)

I work for an industrial distributor and am at the office now.

In the ware house is about (50) 55 gallon drums of water soluable cutting oil.  I will dump all this down the drain and rinse the drums to refill with water.

The building is solid but there are a lot of doors that would need covered.  Not sure there's enough around to board everything up.

There are a ton of power tools here but without power they're worthless.

I suppose the Paslode Impulse nail guns would be good as they're gas operated and cordless.  I could disable the safety and shoot nails with it.  Probably only good at close range.

There is a fully stocked vending machine with snacks, and another with Pepsi products.

Warehouse is also full of things like sledge hammers, picks and axes [evil]  I suppose I could build some sort of spring loaded circular saw blade launcher and have some fun with that.

My girl got me this book a while ago and I went to http://www.72hours.org/, so I'm ready.  8)

My bro got the same book i read through it too and i feel prepared enough.  I think maybe a NYMMC anti undead biker gang would be in the works? [beer]  But with most of our bikes, ducatis and rc51s, the poor range might gimp is badly lol

Zombie guide says bikes are bad.  If you get severely injured you are stuck and lunch meat waiting for the hungry.

i don't know that i would go after anyone if they weren't on my way to my hiding spot.

if i can't get ahold of them they are prob dead so it's not worth the risk. it would be hard to not try and save some people, but it's what i would have to live with.

Pak, my sister got me the same book. i keep it on the coffee table.  [thumbsup]

first, i book it for home. i'm on an enduro so i can go offroad without too much worry since it hasn't rained for a week. home is where the weapons are. plently of long range edged weapons. i can prob store enough water for a couple of weeks. i'm in an old 2 story home that has been divided into 2 seperate apartments by floors. i'm also in a highly populated area so chances are i won't make it. it might be better to risk driving out somewhere less populated.

i'm not sure what i would do about food. there are a few restaurants and deli's nearby. i could prob get a few non perishables from there, or do i risk going to the grocery store and grabbing canned goods?

step one is to take out the stairs leading to our deck and door.
step 2 is to barricade the 2 doors leading into the apt.
step 3 is cover the windows and pathways
step 4 is to make sure the weapons stay sharp and try to wait as long as i can.
If you could I'd recommend coming here. I've got enough wood and metal to barricade everything, I've got cases of water and enough random crap that weapons of mass destruction could easily be built. Plus, once I used you to help me build shit, I could use you for trade with the zombies to make a treaty with them.

[clap] OH!!! Fun game!!! Let's see. I'm home.... I fill four five gallon buckets with water. All my pantry items and I'm going to the attic. Solid attic only one way in and it's small I'd say 12"X24"  It can be braced with a 2X4 I have from the inside. Easily defendable like the 300 of Tripoli. As well it isn't readily apparent, and is located in a small closet with a high ceiling improving the defensiblity of it. Outside roof pitch is 12 on 12 so it would be difficult for unintelligent beings to get me by coming through. As well my walls and ceiling are 100 yr old lathe and plaster. So they are as hard as concrete. I've got 5 boxes of 12 guage skeet and small game shells. Sufficent to remove heads as they poke through the small hole. As well as three boxes of 9mm for my hand gun. Unfortunately my blackhawk .30 is a paperweight with no shells. Crap. I have shovels if I need to resort to it like I said, small hole. Sadly my wife and little girl are with her parents right now so I may die of a broken heart if I comptemplate their fate to often. If we have 24 hrs before the shit hits the fan, she could get here in four from her parents....... I do have my dog, and if suppies get low...... well she'll go before I do. I can't really thing of a position I'd rather defend than my attic. If we were quite enough we could easily wait out the infestation without being found. Really it would take the accidental shoe drop or an intelligent person to see it. If this was going to be a long thing.... or even if it turned into one, I live at the base of the mountains, with my fishing and hunting gear I could easily bolt for the mountains. I have maybe a mile over densely populated ground between me and the beginings of the wilderness.

Every time I see a zombie movie, this is the only thing I can focus on: why the make the beast with two backs don't you people get out of the city and into the mountains where there's not enough food to support a zombie horde??

In fact, forget about zombies, any invasion-style movie will do.  Take the War of the Worlds remake.  Tom Cruise is actually *trying* to get to a large population center (Albany?).  WTF??  "Hey I know, let's go to a place where it will be easy for the aliens to fry us all in one shot!"  Dumbass.

When the shit hits the fan, I'm heading for the hills.
