so...make a 2 into 1, just have one exhaust can on lets say right side...
is it as simple as eliminating one and then 'capping off' the other, or would the piping need tgo be larger becuse of elimination of one can?
any ideas?
i just dont like 2 cans on a bike idea..well if they were high mount, that would be ok, but low mount just looks a little goofy from the back

Find a used Sil 2-into-1 system for your bike (if they don't still make 'em new).  That's your best bet.

well, the problem is that i dont care for aftermarket cans.
i took a set of CF pipes off and put stock ones back on ( i rather hear the engine than pipes).
so i wanna eliminate one of the pipes....
i was asking if ther will have tobe more mods done other than the obvious one like capping off the opening where the other pipe that i will not use exits.  will that make the engine run different?

Your exhaust from one cylinder would not be able to escape. Your motor would run poorly, at best.

You would need to give that exhause gas some sort of outlet. You *could* have a piece of pipe welded in to connect it to the other exhause pipe, however this is not ideal and will result in much poorer performance.

See if you can't find a 2 into 1 system with the proper diameter to allow you to attach one of the stock cans.

You're a strange man ??? ;)
A proper 2-1 system is it - maybe you can live with a stainless steel or titanium, with DB killers still in there?

Does anyone make a low mount 2 into 1 system? Any FHE?
I'm considering the same thing as DJ.
I don't have a problem w/aftermarket can(s), I just don't like the twin cans.
Thanks

The answer is yes, the diameter would need to be different and it's not as simple as capping the other. You could have a piece of pipe custom mandril bent for the purpose and you'd need to include routing for the other cylinder too but it probably wouldn't be nearly as good as the original Ducati piping. Although it looks like a POS the original header and routing pipes on ducs are actually very very good. If you're hell bent on it and you need to make one then you might only lose 2 or 3 HP if it's done really well. Or you could just go high mount, I'd like to do that with mine but that's probably a separate set of problems...
