I still don't see how anyone can listen to ANY music while riding, let alone the kind of shit that can make you drive off the road whilst in the midst of a straight line.  Nevertheless, do yourselves a favor.  Sit down, put in The Big Dirty, turn it to track 6, and cover the room in plastic because your head is gonna make the beast with two backsin explode.

Apple is the album by Mother Love Bone you refer. Unfortunately Andrew Wood (the singer) OD'd around it's release so the original issue became a collector's item to those in the know and didn't draw the attention it deserved ... although the lack of attention was probably due to their sound being a bit ahead of its time too. That entire album was/still is (IMO) a strong album. You can definitely get a feel for grunge's roots in all of the tunes. I still listen to it every now and then. However I found the version of Chloe Dancer / Crown of Thorns best on the Singles soundtrack, again a very worthwhile album.

Haven't heard these yet. I generally don't like covers. The two covers below are WHY I don't. FNM's cover of War Pigs is horrible and Met's cover of Whiskey is neither authentic nor creative. Of course this was done well after I stopped paying attention to their original stuff as well. I do like the covers on The $5.98 E.P. which I still have on vinyl.
