Need a bit of help - will this sprocket http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=11022.0 fit a 2003 M800 (Not S2R)

Thanks for the help.

yes. it is a 520pitch. your chain should have the numbers 520 on each link unless someone swapped to 525pitch.

the 800m has a unique offset (centred, actually) that you can't get as a new part anymore nor as an aftermarket afaik.  easiest way to do it is to get the normal style sprocket and then offset it 6mm toward the motor using some washers or machined spacers.

Maybe I should just live with the 15T - chugs alot in 1st @ low speed.  What is the best fix for this?  I could get a spacer machined if that would be best.

What is the best fix for this?

14t front.  or go up 3 or so teeth on the rear, but you'll need a new chain too.

all the ducati 2v front sprockets from '89 (excepting paso and 750 sport) excepting the 1000 are the same.  same as most of the 4v too.  the testastretta has a big nut holding it on.  if you buy a normal 14t front - 44910061A is the older # - and compare it to your front sprocket now it'll either be the same (boss on one side only) or your original 800 sprocket will have a boss on both sides, locating it about 6mm inward.

you need to space the normal 14t front so the location of the teeth is the same as the one you have now.  it's easy.  the little screws are only m5, so it's not llike they do much except hold the locking plate on.

if you have them both in your hand it's easy to see.

The 520 525 refers to the width of the chain, the pitch being the distance between the pins, is the same.
