Is the procedure similar on an S4R (2000 +) model?

The diagram for my bike is a bit diff:

From the looks of it:

5 and 9 go in the trash

12 get plugged?

Plug the throttle bodies on each side??

nope,.... you want that to be open so the fumes caused by evaporation can escape.
just run it down the same place that # 22 is

following the two lines from your can should lead you to the intakes.

IIRC, horz is on the RH side of the bike, vert is on the LH side, and it's a squeezey fit through the frame

Aha, I found where they're supposed to be.  I was sort of confused because there were no lines there to begin with.  It would be right before the intake meets the cylinder head itself, right?
Turns out they were already plugged with some little socket head cap screws.

Funny, it seems like someone already went to the trouble of plugging those holes and removing the lines, but they never got rid of the canister!

ok did the removal on the 696. definitely not M5 bolts. didn't bother to try the M10 just got covers for the valves.
need to still rerun the vent hose. have to find the Y with two different sizes since the vent and the overfill lines are different. although i didnt check inner diameter, so i may be wrong.

Paegelow

It's not M10.  That would be way too big.  The threads on the end of the rear view mirrors, where they screw into the bracket on the handlebar, is M10!

take the screw with the air inlet in it down to home depot and size it.

or, you can read the how to here...
