Well after a long ride through Los Angeles traffic, which was about 20 miles to get out of the city, then some local Burbank and Glendale traffic a beautiful road begins. This road is the ascent to the top of the Angeles Forrest and mountains. Mostly desert like and hot, spotted with a few pine filled ravines and washes, there lies a series of s curves switch backs and fast sweepers. I reached the summit in less than record time and stopped at the Hidden Springs Cafe for a cheeseburger.

Well I am just getting started but I have a movie date so I have to leave off here. More photos after the movie.

Sorry!  I'm such a dork, I thought it said "Fallen Rider ..."  I thought you were getting ready to relate a tragic event on the Angeles Crest Highway, yet needed to take a dinner break before you could go on!   :-[

Yes, indeed!  Have a great trip and I still hope it ends up on a FABULOUS note!   [wine]

Yes anyway getting on with my story, or basically a photo essay of my sweet ride today, ......as I passed many a cliffs with falling rock signs, dodging pebbles in the road,  I came into a clearing where I was able to wind out 2nd and 3rd, at least reaching 9k RPMs and the powerful Foggy was  lofting the wheel with each shift, the front end feeling light yet precisely directed, I thought to myself this is basically as powerful as HP1, handling seems better though....I thought I need to try this again but on a different canyon. Here is the clearing

Finally I reached the peak and on the way down, miles above the small town on LaCanada there came a clearing. A view into civilization, more cars were coming up the crest as I was heading down, first a 914 Porche, then a Honda cb750, finally a sport bike, of course a gixxer. As i ventured further down, hugging the cliffs not wanting to look down, a straight away with a big sweeper, at the start of the curve was a camera man, documenting all that passed? looking for great sport bike shots? Tripping out on the heat coming off the road??? I know not but off in the distance through the smaze was downtown LA maybe 30 miles off in the distance!

Tomorrow I am going to try Topanga Canyon and to ride over Malibu mountain, winding up in the Malibu colony. Yes more photos from Mr Hollywood to come, birthday is Wed...but thanks for all the kudos. I might even try to make it home late Wed. nite! Happy hour in Flagstaff!!!

If you love your bike, set it free.
If it comes back to you, you've
probably high-sided.
