Gauge Cluster Swap/Compatibility

***Main question already answered, just need to know if any other (new) gauge clusters are compatible w/ an 02 750.  If I have to buy a new one, I might as well upgrade...I'm thinking S4RS or 696  [thumbsup]***

New to Ducatis....I'm looking to buy an 02 750...only issue is a broken speedo/tach.  The odometer, trip, temp all work, but the needles don't move.  I'm assuming this is an instrument cluster issue, is there any way to make sure it's not an ECU issue?

After searching, it looks like a used instrument cluster will not work, correct?  Is it true the cluster only be associated with one red key??  I would certainly try to take the cluster apart and fix it first, but is the only other option to buy a brand new one??  Will clusters from other years/models swap in easily??

Owner has both black keys and red.

I'm sure this has been covered a thousand times, but it's annoying searching through old posts on the DML site (with all the anti-spam junk)...and there's not nearly as much newbie information on the thread archives here.

Thanks!

Sorry, a used cluster will not work.

In addition to the red key, you want to be sure that the owner has the card key with the associated key code.

Some folks have had success taking apart clusters and fixing them, but I don't have any specifics.

I would assume it's a cluster issue as what you're describing is not uncommon, but again, I don't have any specifics.
