How does 2/v w, top model producing  only 95 Hp and 79.5 lb. ft. of Torque float your boat .....Dolph

Because a lot of people (me included) don't particularly care for the look of the 4 valve model with the big radiator and all.

Plus, the Monster is a street bike. Is there really any situation in which 135HP is going to be better than 95HP in a way that Johnny Law isn't going to have an issue with?

Another thing I find interesting is the number of people all willing to give up Desmo in the thread about Ducati's rumoured new engine, but the hybrid trellis frame of the new Monster has a rather vocal group of detractors. Just an observation.

Technically, the desmodeci is a streetbike. What are you gonna do w/ 200hp?

Me? I'd kill myself as would a number of others. The only way to REALLY enjoy that bike is to get it on a track.

Ok, who wants to donate one for me to ride to my death on?  I'll give you exclusive video rights.

I saw the thread and was excited to see what was in store... I should have waited   :-\.

Just like on the 696 I think that frame is HORRIBLE, I cannot figure out why they messed with a good thing.  Those canisters on the back look like they are trying to rip off Suzuki or Yamaha. Those ugly things need to stay on rice rockets where they almost look ok.

I don't think this will be on my Christmas list this year.

I'm in the Army, I ride bikes.

How many years in a row do you expect a company to make the same exact bike?
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

well in HD case... FOREVER... now who wants Ducati to follow THAT lead. (all you haters raise your hands please)

SO sick of this. the bike is a change, change is just that. like it or not it happens. just like everyone that CHANGED things on your 1st and 2nd gen monsters.

oh BTW how many of you that hate the new monster didn't change a thing on your bike? probably not many.

and the 1100 probably makes at least 95 hp since it might have the new head design like the 696 which got a bump in hp despite having no increase in displacement over the 695.

geez people get a life. ducati is changing things. now either buy one or don't but do you seriously think ducati cares about your whining?
i don't think they want to follow HD lead despite so many of you wanting that crap road to follow.

you know what? we're entitle to our opinions, whether its like or dislike. And this freaking thread is about, you guessed it, opinions of the new bike.

so hows about everybody just accept that not everybody is gonna like it and let people voice their opinions? mmmkay?

you can rant about it or rave, but let other people have their opinion and don't bash them for having one.

I like it esp. the "S" model. The SSS is definitely better looking than the chunk on the 696.

Just as a point of Interest, My Dealer received an Email from the Managing Director of Ducati Australia and they were advised that Ducati has officially stated there will be no new 4 valve Monster for the 09 model year, the S4R and the S4Rs are still ongoing.

The earliest replacement for the S4R and S4Rs is the 2010 model year.

I think I would like it if they change the rear passenger pegs and get rid of that swoop exhaust. Make it flow under the bike. It's not like we would be going off road and need the clearance. I'm not going to get rid of my S2R.
08' S2R 1K   That was close  damn near lost a $400 hand cart.
