Wow, if the 1100s is $13995, what in the world is the 1098 based nakid going to cost?

Me thinks I'm not so bummed about buying that s4rt a few months ago.  It was ~4K cheaper than the new 1100s, and probably another bike cheaper than the 1098 monster is going to be. [beer] [drink]

1098 monster I'd say 16,995.

The only recession Ducati cares about right now are the ones on each side of the new tanks.

they will care if they price themselves out of their biggest market :P

are those prices confirmed? we seem to be all over them, but ducati doesnt have a price set. and a jump from 8775 to 11995 ... that's a 3000 premium for 15 hp. either that's priced too high by a dealer or ducati is planning a middleweight.

Put $5500 down last night just haven't decided if I want the "S" or the standard.
Canadian is $13999.95 for the standard which is what the S2R listed for.

Why would you put that kind of money down on a bike that hasn't even been released yet? Wouldn't that money better suit you earning interest?

the guy said it was part multistrada, but it looks more like parts from an s2r...

16k for a monster?  screw that.  If I was going to put that into a monster I'd buy derby's used S4R for 7500 and find a GSXR750 for the weekends and the track.

That is a ridiculous price for what amounts to an upgrade of the S2R1000 with a better suspension.

I'm a Ducati fanboy but even that has its limits.

2005 S2R -- Mods installed: DP termi full racing kit, ST4 Forks, S4R rear shock, 999 Radial Brake and Clutch MCs, 4 pot Brembo Calipers, 320mm Snowflake rotors, SBK Quick change carrier, 43T rear sproket, Tomaselli Clip Ons, Cyclecat Frame Sliders, ASV Levers, zero indicators, Supernova taillight

Because I'm in Canada where we get 1/10 the quantity of bikes that the states does.
Let me clarify,  I droped off my VFR on trade for the new M1100 before the pics were released on the understanding if I didn't like the bike I could switch to another Duc.
Fortunately I love the new monster.

Cheers

If we could buy a 1100S for 14000$  in the Netherlands it would be a big seller
I think we will have to pay about 14000€ and that 40% more

ArguZ

Just for info the prices with tax in Denmark

M 696   Kr. 137.999   =  26.000 USD
M S2R 1000   Kr. 177.280  =  34.600 USD
M S4RS   Kr. 264.990  =  51.000 USD
M S4RS Tricolore   Kr. 275.000 = 54.000 USD
and
Ducati 1098   Kr. 63.000 USD

And now lets talk about your recession  [wine]

15HP and about 25 lb-ft of torque and a better suspension. $12K to $15K seems to be in line with what Ducati is charging for the Hypermotard and Multistrada. $3K is also about the difference between the 620/695 and the S2R1K, so that seems a reasonable expectation as well.

Raux

yeah but a 900 in between for 11k would be good for the brand

Could be, but after they eighty-sixed the S2R800 I don't see them doing it anytime soon.

Raux

problem is when you leap of the 1k cc barrier your insurance goes up. so another bike below 1000 would be nice in the Ducati lineup.

the have nothing now below 1000 except the 696 and 848 (which as a sport bike shoots insurance way up anyways)

oh to have the 750/800SS back in a new form...
