I couldn't believe they didn't even show a picture of what the cable routing was. I'm sure they showed the seat latch on the opposite side of where it should have been too. I wish the two longer allen bolts use to hold down the latch, tail light and blinker assembly were a bit longer too as they barely grab the nylock portion of the nut when it's all done.

I like the direction you are going with your bike, looks great.  I'm on the fence about your chrome decals.  Look OK in the pics but I suspect they look better in person?  Where did you get them?

Yeah, I too am still on the fence. They aren't the right color and have a sort of purple hue to them. Plus the shiny decal on the matte isn't doing it for me. So I might get some stock stickers or leave them off altogether. But if you want to get custom decals, you can go to http://fastdecals.com/.

has anyone installed the ducati performance led signals with their competition werks fender eliminator kit?

is so how did you get them to fit?

Raux

here's my take on the RG Racing Tidy Tail.
Basic:
-ordered directly from RG Racing
-took a week from UK for shipping.
-RG Racing photo gallery http://www.rg-racing.com/RGProducts/ProductGallery.aspx?sku=lp0072bk&page=1

Pluses:
-the kit is thick high quality tough as nails metal
-Painted black already.
-keyhole is in the correct location on the side.
-plate light is screwed on in the correct location and looks real nice.
-two pieces only that line up real nice with the bikes lines
-looks like it will fit euro and stateside plates
-fits nicely underseat edges with no sharp edges.
-place to put the wiring in the pieces
-cheaper than the DP shorttail
-even included shrink tube for the plate light wires

Minuses:
-my bottom piece is folded a bit too narrow so i have to press out the sides abit. when i mean a bit i mean 1/16 of an inch or less, but because the metal is so strong it's not easy
-the bottom back tab where it is to be screwed together with the top piece again is folded a bit off could use the screws (but when a plus since i ran the plate light through one of the holes)
-it's @ $50 more than the CW tail
-no blade connectors so had to cut stock plate wires, but not a major thing since they provided roud connectors (which are more secure than the stock)

Raux, thanks for the info... any pics of your bike?

uh wife has digital cam in germany. i'll try to find another to borrow.

i've done some changes and just finished the tail tidy today, so didnt want to take pics til now anyway.

but here's some of the things i've done.

i have a white 696 so imagine these while i find a camera

-painted the front headlight bracket black
-painted the front exhaust shield black
-painted the exhaust hanger main part black
-put on the RG Racing tail tidy
-removed the charcoal canister
-put the euro shroud on
-painted 'brembo' on the brakes red
-put on white reflective rim stripes
-removed fork reflectors
-removed frame stickers (hope i dont need those on for inspection in germany, but kept them in a sealed bag with the bike)
-replaced stock headlight bulbs with sylvania bulbs that are 4000k white, still waiting on a 3300k (whitest i could find) center bulb to come in

at this point it's all cosmetic and cheap. maybe for christmas my wife will get my pipes. (just in case she's reading [roll])

Raux, that sounds terrific. Can't wait for the eye candy.
Waiting for my year end bonuses to mod up. Thanks again!

Nice write up, thanks.  [bacon]

One question, how visible is the plate at night.  I have the CW one and the angle of the plate is pretty steep so at night the plate light does not cover much and you cant see a thing past 20 feet or so.  I suspect I'll get a ticket  at some point for it so I'm considering changing.  Dont need another reason for the  [leo] to pull me over...

the plate actually looks stock angle almost and the metal can be adjusted slightly if need be, also the light is 3 leds that are bright and light the plate properly. i think since the kit is from a british firm and they are stickler for rules there shouldn't be any probs.

im looking into ordering some LED LP lights to hold my plate on to supplement the dim lighting from the CW tail chop kit.  when i get it done i will make a thread. :)

Wang

Put the CW kit on this weekend, digging it and also considering LED signals.  What about the front, though?

Hustlur

I had the dealer put the factory tailight cleanup kit on mine when I bought it and it looks sick!

what do you all think? Should I take the Termi stickers off the cans? I kind of like them, but wondering if it's a cleaner look. I'm afraid it could be too plain.

eh my opinion is the bike is a Ducati not a Termi. those Termi stickers overpower the bike on everybike they are on
