Anyone local have the No Mar tire changer?  Don't really feel like paying Cycle Therapy in my neighborhood $75-80 to plug my tire and possibly scratch my nice new Dymags...  I'll provide the beer and the plug! [beer]

I'm in Bklyn... you're welcome to swing by. I'll plug your tire for you for free, it takes about 30 seconds. As far as changing your tire... I won't be able to that for you, sorry.

Yeah, just started looking into plug kits and such.  The shop wanted to take the tire off the bike and rim to charge me $$$.  Doesn't seem like there is much faith in running plugs for any amount of time, though.  Would I be better off just getting a new tire?

YMMV, that's completely up to you.

For me, I went through a really bad stint with flats. I rode HARD with plugs in both my front and rear for months and 1000's of miles at a time. Stupid? Probably. Cheap? Definitely.

While I've ridden with plugs with no ill affects, I'd be wary of recommending it to someone else.

That strangely gives me a little more faith in a good plug since I have heard tales of legendary Goldenchild expeditions... [laugh]

Since that's the case...

I have A LOT of faith in the "mushroom" type plug that Aerostitch sells, as opposed to the sticky string type plugs that I have no experience with.

On a different note, when are you gonna come out for a roll?

Cool. Looking at picking one up for future use.  May take you up on the help as well, just figuring out timing and all.  When is good for you?  You have a DSS stand and air handy?

I'm down for a nice long ride as soon as the DMV gets me my plate that I ordered back in July.  Riding on a blown up copy of my registration off the back right now after getting written for unclear plates on the PIP (and a 77 in a 50) when I was running my damaged plate...  Although that plate did get me the Stronzo award for best unintentional mod at the Desmo BBQ!  ;D
