2007 Ducati 1098s Red little over 3k miles.  Basically stock other than rear sets and double bubble screen.  Couple of very small scratches.  Brand new Michelin Pilot Power 2ct's Front has 0 miles and rear has approx 600 miles.  DFWM price $16K.

i wish i had some extra money for the R1 this is the last of the first generation R1,  the best R1s in my opinion, a bit slower than the new but more original!

yeah, it's deffinitely cool, I really love it.  yeah, last year of the carbed R1 and a claimed 150 HP at the crank.  Already fast as hell, but comes with brand new Dyno Jet Jet kit.

1098s comes with a brand new just received yesterday Pit Bull rear stand.  It's the reversible one that can be used on either side of axle (tire change or axle change option).  It also allows you to use your rear stand in the bed of a pickup and are still able to close the tailgate.  Paid $16.5K this year for bike plus $550 for shiping.  Also $1100 for instate registration and taxes.  I can help you out on the tax thingy....  ;)

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

Yo Tommy, why the sell off? Knew the R1 was a possibility, you mentioned that last Sunday at the sticker party. But the 1098 is a surprise. Is it just business or is it the set up/comfort level thing we discussed. I understand either way, I have owned some bikes that I just could not adapt to even though they were good bikes. Hell, due to my physical problems some of my bikes are in the "iffy zone" but I'm just too damn hard headed to give up on them. Maybe someday, somehow my neck and back will be wonderful and I would fell like a dumbass for dumping the uncomfortable ones now. Well, at least that's my story and I'm sticking with it. I believe it's been mentioned before that a certain wife would love for me to dump them all. :P Notta gonna happen... pry my cold dead hands off those Renthal grips if you can!! [thumbsup] [moto] [bacon]

By the way, good luck with all of it!

it's a lot of things really, financial, practical, fit and feel.  I bought the 1098s because it was fast, beautiful, and diff than what everyone else on the road was riding.  I think I might be too lazy of a bike owner for a newer Duc SBK.  I'm a gas and go guy, and this is finely tuned Ducati that needs someone who knows how to fine tune.....  unfortunately I'm an idiot when it comes to that.  Don't know if this is making sense to anyone........

Yes it does make sense brother. No worries. As I said before, I have owned a s#@t load of scooters over the years... and I do mean a s#@t load. They were all not for me. As good as they were and as wonderful as the bike mags said they were, they were not always to my liking. Nothing against 1098s, no way. But if if doesn't trip your fancy or blow your skirt up big deal. There are tons of great scooters out there. Ducatis or not.

Why do you think I have so many different rides? Because there are so many great bikes out there! I love my Ducatis but in reality my favorite bikes to ride due to my injury are the Busa and the old GSXRs and RC51. Again, I love my Ducs but the bars are too low on the 999 even with Ferracci replacements that are higher than stock. They are still at least 3" lower than the Busa or Gixxers. Screw it, I crushed my neck vertebrae and should be either dead or paralyzed from the neck down. Do you think I care who gives a s#@t about what I show up on at a group ride? I'm just glad to be able to walk, talk and ride. In fact my back and neck hurt like a SOB from working at the farm so I may show up Sunday on the Gixxer. Sorry, I'll park across the street from the Ducs as usual. [laugh][thumbsup]

Again, hope all goes well with the sale of both bikes and may you find the ride you want. [clap]

GSXR1K in your future?

GSXR1K in your future?
Never know about the future, but I do know it wont be in the near future.  I probably wont buy another bike this year.  I'm not actively trying to sell the ones I have.  I just posted them up incase anyone is looking, and we could talk.  I think I'm starting to be a lil swayed by Gianni's posts though, the R1 is super cheap and super fun.  If I sell the 1098s I will never be happy with the power output of the S4R, it's just not fast enough.  But I could always throw a pearl white paint job on the R1 and have the suspension redone for me and have a kick ass bike for only a couple grand.  So many bikes out there and so many possibilities.........life's hard!
