I'm thinking a trip to Hard 8 BBQ some Sunday sounds pretty good...

Great riding with you guys yesterday and many thanks to Brian and Lisa! Nice to meet the folks that are new to our little family, I'll go ahead and apologize now for not remembering your names the next time I see you.... sorry about that.

Oh and sorry for holding everyone up when my jacket decided to blow apart while trying to keep up with Will  [bang]

:( Wow, it was pretty agonizing yesterday to log on & read about WhiteCat and I.C.E. info being a problem !!  Fastwin seemed understandably frustrated & angry about being unable to be fully helpful with the authorities in getting WhiteCat the things he needed.

I hear you Brian when you say "never again" !  I'm wondering how you can make that a reality.  In spite of repeated posts about ICE it was unavailable for a rider when needed.  My guess is that to avoid this in the future ride leaders are going to have to DEMAND ICE from all riders OR DEMAND to see the riders ICE Info & where they keep it!   This way you can either have it or see that they have it for sure.

I put the info on my cell phone after reading Spidey's suggestion on the main forum but as Bryant pointed out - cell phones can be destroyed, malfunction, or accidentally be left behind.

I posted Spidey's accident scene management directions post before AR but folks should probably read this before every group ride !

Sorry this happened y'all - I know you did the best you could because I know y'all & that is how you roll.  I agree with Fastwin though - never again on this lack of ICE !!!!

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

Since last nights late post I've managed to sleep a couple of hours and have the presence of mind to post somewhat coherently.

I'd like to again extend my hand of thanks to the group for making me feel welcomed on the ride yesterday. Brian, Lisa, Tommy, Bonnie and the whole bunch of you regular E&W's that I too met yesterday and will have to excuse myself for my forgetfullness on names. I have to say that the two people who blew me away the most yesterday were the two women in the group. I've never in my life seen such polished and competent riders in all my days! [clap] [thumbsup] You gals can get into the corners with such ease and lay down such  great lines I had to just sit back and watch in awe of your abilities. Brian, Tommy, George and the rest of you frontrunners taught me a lot by just hanging back and watching you guys ride. First rate is all I have to say. You make us all better riders. Words run short in expressing the enjoyment I had on the ride. The permanent smile on my face will better do the job. Can't wait for the next one.

Two things. +2 on the Hard 8 BBQ meet up. Jeez, it's been a whole year since we have done that. That is just wrong! Heck, they even have a protected motorcycle parking corral!! How cool is that? How can you not give business to a restaurant like that? And they have tons of covered patio picnic tables. We need to do this some Saturday or Sunday for sure while the weather is nice.

Secondly, Lisa and I loosely brainstormed about the ICE thing standing on the road after taliking to the the trooper. We need some sort of DFW/DMF data base on folks. Just the emergency info, medical issues and just for these occasions only. No, it will not be sold to telemarketers!!! Thank goodness it seems to have worked out well for Marquez. Don't know anything about the hospital ordeal or his condition but the fact that he was released says it all. Of course his life savings will go into paying for the chopper ride! :P Insurance companies HATE care flight operations! It's not like it was his choice or suggestion to go that way. [roll]

Anyway, back on Cyclone's topic. The phone thing is great but back up is needed due to my already stated reason. I will leave this open for ideas and suggestions. This is a very smart, talented group. I am sure we can come up with something better than what we have... which is basically me asking anyone who will cooperate to give me their info in exchange for mine. Which is lame. We can do better. [thumbsup] Discuss amongst yourselves.

Brian I have a good amount of ICE info for the group from past HC trips.  I can upkeep it if folks want to send their info to me.  I won't publish the info so no worries on your contact info being out in space.  I"ll make a new thread for that  [thumbsup]

B8,

Wow that sounds great. Lisa mentioned that she thought you had that very info from the HC trip. Let's see the response to your thread but I really like the idea. [thumbsup] A big thanks!!

+2 on that observation.  Also on the coolness Lisa, Brian, and all others involved on handling the unfortunate down situation.
