Yes, a fine weekend by all accounts although typical Melbourne spring weather, drowned one day and sunburnt the next.
Great racing and a top result.
Just wish they could plan the carpark exit strategy a bit better.
A permanent Expo building is a big improvement.  Great deals on Ducati merchandise too!

if you're doing a ride school or track day it's a good idea to trailer the bike.  if possible.  it's a long ride home if you're shagged.

of course, i've never done it.  i don't think i've ever ridden to a track day except for sandown.  maybe it's the ride home that settles it all down.  i always get out of the car sore.  and it's a boring trip at the best of times.

Have you spoken to Harold Holt about his way to spice up the return journey from PI? he waits until all the world is sleeping and then he GOES!!!!!!!  [moto]

+1 on that, dropped the bike at winton a few years back, makes for a long ride home if you've got bent handlebars and only one footpeg.

we went down for the '97 race, when doohan dropped it going into 1 and bayliss rode the suzuki 250.  weather was great until about 7.30pm when we were about to leave the house we'd stayed at to come home.  bob was on his 916 and he hated getting it wet so he took off and i was left chasing the boss on a demo k1200rs.  i was on the eldorado (guzzi 850gt).  the road was just that flat dark wet look, headlight didn't seem to show anything thru the rain and i couldn't see shit.  spent all the single lane stuff (lots of it then) aiming to the left of the oncoming headlights and chasing the red light in front.  one hell of a shit ride.

ha ha!! I wish!
did my back in and couldn't ride down - had to take the cage. I was v bummed about not riding down - especially given the bloody brilliant weather.  Apologies that I didn't catch up with anyone from the DMF, but I did speak to a number of Monster riders- just not the right ones clearly!
Took some piccies though if anyone wants a look....
