Looks like the 1098 may be unavailable for the Hill Country trip. I need a back up bike just in case. I have decided to make my track bike quasi street legal. It will have a brake light/signal combo from Chromeglow. I am going to glue fake flushmount blinkers to the front. The headlight will be a PIAA fog light mounted somewhere.  I am planning on using double stick tape to mount the plate under the tail. I will put a bar end mirror on one side.

The fog light will not be the best for riding at night, so I plan on avoiding that if at all possible. Is there anything that I am missing?

My only other choices are a Triumph Trophy (with 45k miles ) that needs some TLC, or a Harley Shovel Head. Neither seem acceptable. I do not think that I could get the Harley out of the living room if I had to. I think that the fish tank has it blocked.

FWIW, we've avoided riding at night on past trips. There's a lot of deer that come out on the roads at night.

I have this stoopid strong 3m industrial tape hat is pretty impressive. I have used it for this very purpose before. It survived a year on my GSXR600 for more than a year.

the deer come out during the day also.  Scott and I almost merged into "Svoloch L'Smart", and I don't want to think where Ron "I like to settle in 3 inches off your back tire" R would have ended up if his reflexes were not superhuman...

If it were anyone else it would freak me out.  With you, I don't even look.  It's just one of the many things that went through my mind as I almost drove through Scott on our little deer stop...

Yes.  Even more so if you put it on your bike.

Headlights are installed. The left one looks brighter in he pic, but it is an illusion. The best part about this set up is that I can remove them in 2 minutes.
