I'm having a weird problem with my speedo and tach on my 02 620. The speedo reads between 30 and 50 mph off and the tach is also reading high. My check engine light is also on. Is there a sensor that would cause these readings to go haywire like this?

Is it the light at the bottom of the triangular group of six lights, or is it the yellow light down at the bottom near the 2 buttons?

no, It is not the immobilizer light. It's the light with the little engine on it

You could try unplugging and replugging the connector on the instruments a couple times, perhaps the contacts are a bit cruddy or there's water in it.

Likely that your instruments have packed it in...

well that sucks. I just paid a bunch to have the immobilizer set reprogrammed.

ok well I figured it out as I took the bike apart. It was a combination of 2 things I think. The wire going to the sensor on the rear wheel was not fully connected and I had a severely crimped wire going to the gauge cluster.
Unfortunately I figured this out as I was taking the bike apart to part it out  [bang]

Part it out? Why would you do that?
