On the way home from work today, fueled up just before getting home and started the bike (05 620) up. It is pretty temperamental when it is running warm (around 105 deg C) and I need to rev it to take off normally. Well this time, she went BANG and I didn't think it was me at first and I rode away.

Anyway, I get to my front gate and get off, and it stops. Has happened before so I don't worry about it. Get back on and start her up and go to put her in the garage, rev it a little and BANG,BANG. Yep, it was my bike alright.

What would/could cause this? I took the horizontal plug out and it looked a little white so this afternoon I might go get some new plugs.

Anything else that others can input would be greatly appreciated.

P.S Sorry if this sort of thing has been posted before. I haven't much time. 

Any time i hear about an issue that starts right after refueling...

I suspect the fuel...silly me.

Try some dry-gas.

I think you may have picked up some water in that tank.

As I am in Australia, we are still using whale oil for our street lights.

It's a concoction of alcohol to absorb the water.

...check at any auto parts supplier.

If you can't find any dry gas down under, go to a lab store and get some pure alcohol, run no more than 10%.

As I was not anywhere near empty, I was just doing a top up, would you still suspect the same thing?

Even with just a top-up, it could still be a good bit of water.

It could be something else, but it's most likely due to that last batch of fuel.

I just went and got some plugs, bike was running fine on the way, no backfires. Even under load it didn't hiccup. Still hesitated from a standing start and the engine would stop for no reason at red lights. 

Got home, changed the plugs and went for a quick 20 minute ride to see how she went. A whole new bike, didn't hesitate, didn't stop and when I left her running at my gate till I opened my garage door, didn't stop which usually happens and didn't need to keep the revs up to move away. And no backfires. 

So, I'd say it wasn't the fuel, it was the plugs. When I took the old ones out, they didn't really look that bad, were a bit whitish but changed them anyway.
