if youre gonna do this, have patience...
its a REALLY nice piece, and therefore tolerances are TIGHT.
take your time, allow a couple hours to do it right...
its a great design in 2 pieces, so i installed mine with the wheel, tire, and shock in place...!!!
just set the small odd looking bracket piece to the swingarm, then bolt the hugger to it.
piece of cake.
the allen retaining the brakelines directly in front of the rear shock is going to take you some time
get an extra allen key and saw it off short to make life easier...
i had to do this after a nice 100 mile trek home in the rain recently;
dont want to destroy my shiny pretty ohlins...!!!

A couple of hours?  I've heard conflicting reports on fitting this hugger, but mine went on in 10 minutes, and I'm no master mechanic.  Do a search there's proof!! 

BTW, it looks great.  Shift-Tech sells really nice CF.

Mine took an hour.  I had a difficult time wedging the mounting half between the tire and swing arm.  I ended up deflating the rear tire to 0 to get more clearance.

yeah....
what i did was slide the rearmost leg between the tire and swingarm
and rotate the whole bracket assy down 90 degrees so the front fell into place...
i was a bit squeamish as one tab bent against the swingarm pretty good, was afraid i might snap it,
but it all clicked into place pretty easily once i got it there...
carbon wasnt as brittle as i might have feared...
just tight getting all the allens back in behind the shock, etc....
i love it.

I have a ShiftTech hugger too. But I took a different approach when routing the brake line and speed sensor wire.

There should be a void "channel" between the swingarm and the piece that mounts to the swingarm. This channel works perfectly to house (and conceal) both the brake line and sensor wire. Actually, I thought this was the brilliance in the design!

By routing them in the channel, I only had to reuse 2 of the clips (the ones closest to the right rearset) that hold the brake line and sensor wire to the swingarm.

I think you'll find this is a much cleaner install. Notice the picture below. No brake line and wire until they come out of the channel. Give it a try! Maybe that's why it took 2 hours for you to install

I used the channel as well.

Took about 15 minutes.  I also replaced all fasteners with black anodized Aluminium.

didnt even consider the channel when i installed,
ill have to check that out....
one factor in my 2 hour install is the fact that im
working with a herniated disc in my lower spine, so i could only work about 2 bolts
and then take a little break....
so yeah, maybe 45 min to an hour is more likely...
now since im restricted from riding for another 6 weeks, whats my next bling project....?

remove the side cover pieces and show more trellis. a couple of people here have done it and it's really cool looking. plus with that awesome swingarm trellis and more open trellis on the frame, your bike will look so light.

One install note: On Jaman's RS that I installed it on, it did not clear the Full Termi system he had. I had to trim the hugger quite a but was able to get it done very cleanly and get it to clear where the retainer spring is on the crossover pipe to can connection.
