I have 2000km on my '07 695 with dp ecu/exhaust, and as i was driving around today (the engine was already at operating temp) i down shifted, blipped the throttle- all i heard was a 'farting' sound and the engine died...i coasted off to the side of the road. I tried to re start it a few times, but no ignition sound, then as i was about to call for a tow, i press the button it fired up and off i went. I drove to the dealer  but the shop was closed. The shop manager took a look but had no clue what it could of caused it. Is this what you would refer to as 'surging'?
I'm going back to the dealer in a few days, if you guys have experienced this or know what it might be, I would like to tell the dealer, they didn't seem that on top of it.
thanks,

electrical problem, maybe? ignition?

did they check the ECU for any codes it may have thrown up?

What do you mean by ignition sound?  Did the engine crank and not start or not crank?  Did you hear the fuel pump?  What were the instrument lights doing?  Any other info?

there was no sound whatsoever when i tried to restart- so no crank, tried about two or three times and nothing, and then i waited a few seconds, tried again it started no problem. The red oil light was on when the engine died
