GC, I'll pm you by tomorrow if I'm 100%.

Okay.

I just finished the route, looks like we'll be leaving from Bklyn again... instead of Gorilla, let's meet up at Southside at say 9am SHARP. If this meeting place a problem for anyone, please speak up ASAP! Gas and air will be available en route to the city.

I was wondering how long it would be until this would be the new meet-up joint. [coffee]

Thanks for the amazing ride fellas, I had a great time all day long!

Since there were just the 4 of us (Cru, rcpete, patricks2r, and myself) we were able to move with the quickness and keep a fast pace all day. After a late or should I say casual start (10am) in Bklyn we make our way to the curvy kind of roads that we love near PJ and roll through Hawk's Nest by 11:30. We didn't see the PA Monster contingent so we kept on rolling.

Another 350 fast twisty miles later we surprisingly find ourselves on our way home - AND IT'S STILL DAYLIGHT. Even though all the roads we did were nothing new, I found a new appreciation for them since I was basically riding for myself. What I mean is, the group was so tight yesterday that it was absolutely no work for me to be leading. All I had to do was ride my own ride, think about my own line and worry about my form and we'd all magically manage to get where we're going. There was a long laundry list of hooliganism throughout the day but my favorites were the 30 mile stretch of 20-30mph sweepers in PA ridden at a sustained 90+mph, the intense video game-like ride down a 'Skills classic, and the Grilled Cheese Run style trip home (now I REALLY want a quick shifter). Stupid I know, but I never said I was smart... US's - clever and witty? Hell yes! Common sense? Not so much.
I'm also very pleasantly surprised that I really enjoyed the roads. Since our trip down south I've become jaded about our quality, or lack thereof, of riding around here. Even the roads we travel 200 miles away to get to just seemed like they wouldn't be any fun anymore, and up until yesterday, they didn't. I'm not sure what the difference is between the last 2 rides and yesterday's ride was but the fact that we had a small group that is very used to riding together probably had something to do with it. As mentioned earlier in another thread, while I love riding with new people each and every time I go out (although that rarely happens since none of you seem to want to ride with us), yesterday was a refreshing change of pace since it was just us. Kinda like a GCR which I sorrily miss.

Since we were too busy riding, I only managed to snap one picture. Pat's got a few that he might be willing to share too...

The bugs are still around, a good sign that there'll still be warmish riding weather... at least for the next couple of weeks -

Yesterday was a great ride guys.  The weather/scenery was amazing.  Thank for planning/leading GC -even if it didn't feel like work.  Alan, thank you sooooo  much for letting me borrow some of your gear again.  Pete, it was awesome riding with you again.  It's been too long!  It would have been an even better ride if I didn't have this damn cold.  Underneath that helmet I was a mess and it was really bumming me out - Thank you host monkeys at the office.

Wait, there was a monster on that ride?! How did that happen?!  :o
;) ;D

Yes, yesterday was the business. Tight group like GC mentioned meant everyone was moving at a quick pace (probably too quick for our own good!  [laugh]) & the stops seemed to be a good amount of mileage in between. It was good to ride the 'Skills again & I've found a new appreciation for some of roads as doing 3x the suggested for a turn seemed to have something to do with it.  ;D

GC - Big ups for leading, even if it didn't feel like you were. Also, thanks for the back protector. I've got something for you as soon as I sell my old one.

Pat - Glad you made it out one last time before you head back to the left coast. Sorry you felt like crap, but at least you didn't ride like it.  [thumbsup]

Pete - It's been too long since you rode with us last & it was good as always to have another RC on the road with us.  [clap]

Pat's a baller, he's bicoastal - gixxer on the west coast, monster on the east coast!

Do you have a functioning bike and are you able to ride any time soon?

Yes, picked my bike up on Saturday. Only did like 180 miles on it but new tires and fully tuned. Just waiting for some new rotors and it'll be stopping, not just running, like a beast.

Must say, riding away on it put a smile on my face, the thing goes. ;)

Glad you guys had a great time and an uneventful [roll] ride. The weather was great yesterday. Still no riding for me yet, but got to take the dog swimming.

rcpete

What great ride yesterday. Its always a pleasure and fun riding with GC, CRU and PAT.  Its one of the best moments i've had on the bike.   [thumbsup] to GC for planning this routes you always pick the best roads out there. Thanks for the great pics Pat. Hope you feel better. Hey Dan, glad you got your bike all sorted out. Maybe we can plan a ride in your neck of the woods before the season ends.

EvilSteve

That would be good, should be done this weekend. :)
