Pick up a can or two of brake cleaner aerosol I f you don't have some already.  Makes for quick cleanups of that paint eating brake fluid, and just generally handy to have around.  Clutch fluid seems to have a habit of turning dark very frequently, so plan on bleeding/flushing a couple of times a year.  When I got my bike, with only 140 miles on it, it was already dark!

Dude, that brake cleaner stuff works wonders on everything metallic. I cleaned my bike a few weeks ago with it and then Carnuba'd the whole painted surfaces, plexyglass, and helmet shield and helmet surface and it looked hawt! In fact the pic at left was taken just after the Carnuba. That stuff is awesome!

Also, if it hasn't already been mentioned, is that when you have it all hooked up (the plastic, flexy tubing to the bleed nipple, catch container like an empty coffee can, brake fluid, 8,9 or 10mm wrench... I forget the stock Duc size, etc.) and you start to pump up pressure at the master cylinder right before cracking the bleed nipple valve MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE MASTER CYLINDER COVER BACK OVER THE MC!!  When the cover is off and you squeeze/pump the lever to get pressure in the line the fluid has a tendency to splash back up out of the open master cylinder. You never notice this when riding because obviously the cover is screwed down tight over the master cylinder. When you remove it to add more fluid as you bleed it through the system there is nothing there anymore to stop it doing an impression of Old Faithful! And everyone is right when they say DOT brake fluid is very harmful to paint. When you top up the master cylinder just place the stock cover back on. No need to screw it back down every time. Just having it placed over the cylinder is more than enough to contain potential spewing brake fluid.

It's a simple job. Nice easy task over a cigar, cold adult beverage while enjoying the fall weather in the garage. Having the wife out shopping just adds to the ambiance of the moment!! [laugh] [wine]

Yeah, that's it. It's weird, my Evoluzione clutch slaves take a 9mm. Must have gotten a good deal on a case of 9mm bleed nipples. ??? Is it just me or is it fun saying bleed nipples? [laugh] Never mind. ;D
