hey people hows lazy sunday going? ive been eating [bacon] and drinking  [coffee] all day. now my chest hurts....is that bad?

Um, yeah.  http://www.pe2000.com/caffeine.htm

I drink a cup or two a day, but anything more than that induces undesireable side-effects.  Your short and long-term health can be effected.  For today, drink a lot of water to offset the effects.  Going forward, begin to reduce your caffeine intake.  Oh, stay away from decaf--it has more harmful chemicals than beneficial effects of reduced (it still has some) caffeine.

If you haven't done so recently, you may want to pay a visit to your doc and get a complete physical workup, including a treadmill test.

You asked...

Mal: "That it was manly and impulsive?"

Inara: "Yes, precisely. Only the exact phrase I used was 'don't'."

I do my best to avoid doctors...

it's their job to find things wrong with you.

no doctors...

no problem.   ;)

Yeah, most of my guy friends say that...

Must be a Y chromosome thing.

;D

BTW, if you have chest pains, you have a problem.  And I don't think a doctor told him he had chest pains.  I'm just sayin'...

true....

but chest pains aren't necessarily the 'big one'...

there are lots of things, very minor things, that can cause them.

Fair enough.  Everyone (should) know their own body.  Most of us have an innate sense of when something is truly wrong.  The only question is whether or not we are going to do something about it.  ;)

Glad you are feeling better, darkduc7.  Just take it easy and drink lots of water today.  Be well.

Denial is a signal of a heart attack.  No one wants to have one, so it is always something else.  The chest hurts, but it's the five chili cheese dogs I had for lunch, oh the elevator was out and I took the stairs - I'm just out of shape, oh it's just gas, etc.  If the pain stays, goes away and comes back or lasts longer then 3 to five munutes call 911.

Today was supposed to be my day off.  I was going to drink coffee, read the paper, eat bacon and eggs and then go running.  My phone rang at 0725.  It was the red cross saying someone called in sick and could I teach?  Yes. Got there at 0800!   I just got home a bit ago.  I had more coffee, ate bacon and eggs, and now I will read the paper!

like a chuckle...

or a normal breath...

it's getting better though.

I don't think I broke anything.

Now that my ribs are starting to feel better I'm noticing some other 'interesting' feelings...

in my knee...and elbow.

I have plenty of time to recover though.

I went to meet the group on the ride for lunch.

It was depressing. :-\

+1

Most people know they are having a heart attack.

Denial is a killer in this case.

If you have chest pains get checked out.
Why do roaches always die on their back?

That because the survivors flip them over to steal their sneakers and wallets.

eveNing.

Just got back from Rochester.

For better or worse, we just bought a 88 Mazda 323 GTX.

For those not familiar with the car, it was developed to run (and competed) the FIM World Rally (WRC) series.  It should be a great project.   [thumbsup]
