No diff between city/highway riding. Well, maybe a little diff.  ???
that's cause you always ride like a .............  [cheeky]

anywhere from 170-ish to 210-ish on my M800

from my reckoning, factors need to include:

- engine capacity
- vintage (differing tank capacities etc)
- intake, exhaust and fueling mods
- gearing mods - 14T etc..
- riding style (how heavy handed you are on the throttle)
- the total weight the engine is moving along, bike and rider.

I say the last cause my bike used to do much better fuel economy when kickstart was riding it...... probably due to a number of factors, but mostly cause it's carying me around rather than him .... oh and he rides like adam as well  [cheeky]

the quality of the offset map for the rear cylinder can make a huge difference to fuel economy.  maybe the dp s2r800 offset is better than the std offset.  or it might have more spark advance - lots of the later marelli mapping jobs seem to lack spark advance at lower throttle openings.

i think i've read of a lot of people who get pc3 fitted and tuned with an "advanced" map get better fuel economy.  having said that my 851 will (did) get great economy when not in the city, even riding it hard.  i think there's something very wrong with the mapping on the 4v bikes that only get 100km to a tank - they should do much better than that with the compression and good chambers and all.

I should quantify the 100km per tank. Its 100km until the fuel light comes on, which is about 10 litres, so whats that, 2-3 usable liters left, say another 20kays.

This is inner city commuting, 0-60 in half a second at the lights, lots of idling and running below 4000rpm and under 60 km/h all the way. Fun though  ;D

I sure it has the ability to run better and more efficient with some better fuelling, can the Power Commander be used in conjuction with the standard ECU, stock air filter/box and udder and make a noticeble difference?

Most of the guys complaining about only 150km out of a tank are on the S4RS/T thingies. They say all that extra power uses the fuel ... I think it has more to do with carrying that radiator around all the time, the weight'll cost ya.

nice  [clap]

mines about 200km before the light comes on, 240 before I start a 'leg workout'.

992ds, open air, termi, dp ecu and some wind-catching lanky bastard sitting on top.

Termi's made a huge difference: it ran like crap until Brad 'the Ducati-whisperer' Black got her back!  [bacon]

00 M900ie termi, openbox, and dp ECU, 14T

I get about 180km communiting running on PULP ie 95 octane and it'll stretch out to 210km before I have to walk.

That's communiting early morning and evening, it's really start stop and hard of the lights etc .... lots of fun.
ie 98 the bike runs terribly and my mechanic says I should be using standard unleaded ie ULP 91. If I use ULP I only get about 160km before the light comes on and the power seams nowhere near as responsive.

Open road I'll get 200km before the light comes on.

Fairy?

The reason is I try to ride behind big objects, less wind resistance, which is why I ride behind you on group rides.  [cheeky]

You shouldn't be calling yourself goldFiSh, crayFiSh would be more appropriate.  ;)
