If any one is interested there is a great sale on the Bridgestone BT-016 tires this saturday at Cycle Grear.  $189 for a 180 set and $199 for a 190 set.  I wish I just didn't buy tires.

Thanks for the link!  That is a great deal on a set of tires...I might have to consider that.

Desmo Demon mentioned this last month but thought they would be Diablos.

Anyone have these tires or reviews of them?

Awesome... Thanks for the heads up  [thumbsup]

I was gonna try to get my hands on the Pirellis, but I'd much rather try the Stones...

I have the BT016's front and rear, I've put about 2K on them since fitting, the rear is wearing very well and the front still looks like new. I mainly use them for commuting with a 45 km round trip every day, but even up in the mountains I have been very impressed with the level of feedback and the side grip on these Tyres, since having the suspension done and tyres replaced, I have been having much more fun, better control and feedback, which means I can concentrate more on my riding, I'm not trying to hustle a bike through a corner that it's not happy about going through (EG: Bucking/bouncing/sliding and not following the chosen line)

Even wet grip, which Bridgestone claimed was not as good on this new tyre as compared to the old tyre, has been better than I thought .

Bridgestone has changed the land/sea ratio for this tyre, meaning there is more rubber because of the smaller and further spaced apart tread pattern.

Which means, not as good for clearing water in the rain, but dry weather grip is much higher due to less tread shuffle/movement and more rubber on the road.

But so far even in the wet I have not been slip sliding around like I thought I might.

Be careful when they are cold, they are not a happy camper when they are not up to there normal Temps, but they do get up to Temp pretty quickly and then the fun begins!

They are having a sale on the Diablos this weekend and I was going to pick up a set, but now see that the BT-016s are going to be on sale too.  What to do?  I like the appearance of the 16s better than the diablos and they say they run a hard center in the rear.  I may just have to get the Bridgestones instead.  Other than Cairnsduc's nice writeup, does anyone else have any feedback on these?

I don't see where they are offering the Diablos in sets on sale.  Probably doesn't matter anyways, the sets don't match my tires anyways.

Just got off the phone with my local cycle gear store and they said the BT-016s are internet only.  They do in fact have the Diablos in stock in the store because I touched them, smelled them, and tasted them.

Also, My Local guy (Canoga Park, Ca) said that once the Pirellis are gone from the store... they will be offering the Dunlop Qualifiers at 20% off...

So I know this will open up a can of worms, but given the...

BT016's at $206 (including $16 shipping but no sales tax) and the...

Qualifiers at $210 (in store price, no sales tax added)...

What would you choose?

I have only ridden the Monster on the BT014's... so both the new BT016's and the Qualifiers are unknown quantities to me

I am just about due for a new set of rubbers - have about 4000 on my Pilot Power 2 CTs (which I have really liked a lot.)  My 08 Monster s2r 1000 came with Bridgestone's stock (Battleaxes, I think) and I didn't like them nearly as well as the Pilots.

Does anybody know how the new Bridgestone's would compare with the Pilot Powers I've been running?  Thanks for any feedback...
