After throwing a rod at 60mph on the Hwy 101 near Los Angeles, it looks like my 2000 M900ie motor is junk and I will be better off buying a replacement.

what caused the rod to punch thru the engine? are you gonna do any engine mod (since the new engine is already out) like hi compression pistons, bored heads.....

I probably seized a rod bearing.  The motor is not really worth rebuilding, so I am looking for a new one.

I (actually my brother in law) wrecked my '00 M900ie 8/13/08. Ins totaled the bike but the motor looked to be ok. It was at Copart in Reno, 775-322-4377, lot #15231778. Not sure what, if anything, happened to it, but might be worth chasing. Sure would be good to know some good came of it! Good luck - Tom
