Last trip to AR this season for me. For anyone interested, leaving at 9:00am from Love's Truck Stop in Anna just off 75, staying in Hot Springs. Coming back pretty much the same way, plus a new road I need to try. Temps in the low 40s to mid 60s, very slight chance of light rain. Not expecting anyone but a friend of mine to attend but I didn't want to be rude.

Just a suggestion.   Hwy 270 and Hwy 71 are pretty heavily traveled roads so you will probably be stuck behind a lot of cars and 18 wheelters.  You might want to take either 28 a little farther North of 270 or 88 across to 27.

Why such the short route?  You should go up to Moutain Home to say.  That is where we have stayed on the two day trips in the past.  Really nice Holiday Inn Express and you get to hit the northern AR roads.  Those days were about 550 miles per day and really fun.

Ok Swanny, now you have me looking at maps again.  I really wanted to hit 7 north of Hot Springs but 341 is accessible if we go all the way to Mountain Home... and I think getting to ride that one twice is enough incentive to make our way all the way up there. Around Mena, I am going to try this Indian Hwy backroad that runs about 10 miles south of Talihina. Feel free to make some alterations.

I lived through this only to be faced with work again. 

Riding through Arkansas is like a trip through an alternate reality. It was apparently opening weekend for deer hunting, and I had been making quite a lot of noise in natives' hunting grounds. It crossed my mind that it would be wise to make myself a smaller/faster target.

I haven't checked my hub pins and don't really want to (one was cracked before I left). Now I need to get up the nerve to take it to AMS and have them fix the problem for real this time.
