Does anyone know for a fact that she went to Parkland? A real, confirmed hospital location would be a great start.

When I called Rosa at AMS-D at 1:00 this afternoon, she said Maria "was at Parkland and in stable condition."

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

OK, great news!! All is well, sort of. I PM'd Keith for him to call me if he knew anything and 2 minutes later he called from Maria's house. She is OK, her wrist hurts like hell but she has movement. They x-rayed it but due to swelling they could not tell if it was cracked. Certainly not severely broken. She is to go back in a week after the swelling subsides for more x-rays to make sure.

She remembers the car turning in front of her and hitting it and doing a "Flying Wallenda" trapeze act over the hood of the car and doing a tuck and roll onto the ground. Apparently the man driving and his family got out and were very concerned about her and were very upset at his mistake. Nice to hear for a change.

The bike is totaled. Major frame crack up near the head tubes and lots of other big dollar damage. Main thing is she is at home, no worse for wear, proud to take a beating and keep on ticking and in good spirits!! All very good news. I'll let her tell the rest! Whew, another close one! Be careful out there. [thumbsup]

Thanks for the update Brian. Glad to hear things are relatively ok. Nothing worse than hearing about a motorcyclist going down, let alone one of your own.

Hope you're wrist starts feeling better soon Maria. Outlook good!  [thumbsup]

I am seriously glad to be sharing good news. Very worried, as you all were. We have all been very lucky, very lucky. Me, Maria, Rich, Bryant, Alan, Cory, Marquess,... the list goes on too damn long. Not even counting the track day nonsense. Enough is enough. It is a f#@king combat zone out there, even without the autos! Can we please start putting together some big and small group rides without incidents? I am really tired of my friends going down and buggering up their bikes. The odds are someone will eventually get hurt real bad, much worse than me, and I just don't want to see that.

I guess it's the protective old fart coming out in me. But it's all based on good intentions. Please, please be careful. Track day, city street, country ride or not. The odds seem to against us and I would seriously like to change that. [thumbsup] [moto] Heads up folks, please!
