It looked more like a Paul Smart to me back when when saw the movie.

Not really seeing that.

Watching the scene again, closest Duc would be Sport Classic S:

Looking close, and I wish I could find a better pic of the bike in question, it is a parallel twin, thus my reasoning:

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

The only visual difference between these to in regards to an animated movie, is the dual stacked exhaust - but I agree with you. Good eye!  [thumbsup]

Just saw the trailer for "Yes Man."  There's a scene with Jim Carey doing a wheelie around town in a Hyper.   [thumbsup]

That isnt Pro Italia
The parking out front, PI has no parking up front
Those arent the houses across the street from PI
No stairs at PI
I used to live up the blok from PI, I would walk down every night and stair through the window. They have wiped a lot of my hand prints and fluids off of their front window.

With the sound of an inline 4...  :-\
2006 Ducati S2R1000, 1974 Honda MT125, 1974 Penton Jackpiner 175, 1972 Yamaha R5

mcgalinmd

Yeah, I always thought of it as a Ducati, but after doing some web searching myself, I found out it to be a "calahan" so I deleted it.

I, too, think it looks like a Paul Smart.  I actually went to YouTube and watched most of the movie to confirm.  :)

In response to mcgalinmd's deleted post...

In the movie "Ratatouille", the female chef drives a fancy motorcycle. At at least one point during the film, you can see the "brand" of the motorcycle dispalyed on the gas tank. I only saw it briefly and incompletely, but it appeared to say something like "Calamari", which strikes me as totally in character with Pixar's organizational sense of humor.

Can anyone confirm that this is the case or set me straight if its not?

"The brand of motorcycle that Colette rides, as evidenced by the logo on the gas tank, is "Calahan" - a reference to DP/lighting director Sharon Calahan."

My guess is it is very loosely based on a Laverda.

Isn't Google the best!  ;D
Can you imagine a world without a Ducati???  I think it's called Hell. :)

IZ

"Dollhouse" on FOX starring Eliza Dushku and she rides a 848/1098   [thumbsup]

Eliza Dushku showed her skills with the compound bow and arrow and said she would be using it in an upcoming episode of the new series. She was fresh from a day of shooting where she said she had been tearing around on the Los Angeles streets in her leather pants on a Ducati motorcycle and the day before or so she had been in a helicopter shooting downtown.

Yum!  [evil]

How much do you think Ducati paid to have thier name plastered all over in the Matrix

?

"promotional consideration" (aka product placement) doesn't always mean "paid", sometimes it just means "donated".  It was widely reported that GM donated over 100 Cadillacs for use in the sequels.  I imagine the deal was similar with Ducati.

Sidenote: That bike (well, one of the several used as Trinity's in the freeway scene) sat in the basement of the production office for the 1+ years I worked there during post (when the production returned from australia).  Never moved.  Covered in dust.  I believe one of the Exec Prod kept it.  It probably *still* hasn't been ridden, unless he sold it.

causeofkaos: those (2 or 3) stairs led to an elevated platform that the two sales desks sat on for as long as I've been going to PI, since ~2002.  They're no longer there as PI was (subtly) remodeled last year.
2007 S4R-T (street)
Black CRG Hindsight LS, Black CRG Roll-A-Click Levers, Black Rizoma Conical Handlebars, DP Open Airbox, Clear Alternatives Integrated LED Brakelight w/ Smoke Lens, Removed: Chopped (w/ Cookie's kit), Sidepods & Wiring relocated, Passenger pegs, Stickers

2001 Suzuki SV650 (track)

Wow!  Surprised to see that this thread has been dead for almost two years with a D16 in both Wall Street and Expendables.

Even a little bit of a highlight on the clankity clutch in Expendables.  [thumbsup]

Already mentioned Ducti Superbike in Tron.  That movie is going to be awesome in 3-D with D-Box seating. [thumbsup]
