+1 Indy Ducati escorts everyone on a demo ride, and their service dept. is top notch  [thumbsup]

Monster Zero

I don't know.  Seems like every time I read about an S4Rs going down, it's totaled.  My first was rear-ended and totaled.  I got full value and replaced it with another.  Been lucky with number two, but I worry that any minor lowside will get it totaled out, and I hate the thought of going through that again.  That being said, I ride it with no regard for it's apparent vulnerability even though it feels a bit like Russian Roulette.

I think if my second S4Rs got totaled I may not replace it with the same.  It's a shame parts are so damned expensive.  Are all Ducatis prone to such expensive damage?  I can't think of a single bike I'd rather be riding, but this weakness is downright embarassing to me.   Are the super bikes as fragile?  I'm sure the body work costs a bundle, but do the frames bend and twist as readily as the Monster frames?

I feel the same way but thats just the cost of owning a duc or any other italian exotica... and from what i hear, yes the superbikes are just as fragile..

The RS frame only bends when you ride it correctly (fast and hard enough).  The few times I've done it, I was .....very...... impressed with the way the frame begins to communicate what it's doing at the "I'm about to kill myself pace".

I don't think the bike is more expensive or more a pain in the ass or more vulnerable than any other Ducati.

And ridden "correctly" it may be the most fun Ducati. ;D ;D ;D
