I know a lot of you have recently bought tires; mine are nice and squared-off now so I need to replace them.  I'm hoping I can get Randy to mount and balance them for me but who has the best deal  in town  on Pilot Powers?  I've gone through AMS and CycleGear in the past but I'd like to hear what's worked for you...

I know they're not in-town, but I've bought from Southwest Moto- good prices, & if you buy 2 tires they ship free! That way you don't have to p/u & drag across town, just have 'em shipped direct to Randy

When I was at Maxim/Honda getting a flat fixed, they claimed to match internet pricing on their tires, and had a good selection (Tiremax they called it).  They did a prompt, speedy flat repair on my loose wheel.  Worth a try for one stop shopping.

No offense to AMS but their tire prices are Ducati tire prices. Had a good deal going at High5 Cycle on LBJ but tire prices have gone through the roof. Quincy, the manager at High5 (and at the time a fellow RC51 owner) sold me Pilot Powers at his price. Until he got to the counter and saw what "his price" was! He stuck to his guns and sold a set to me at his price but it had gone up significantly. He was shocked but it made me a loyal customer because he stuck to his word. I love supporting the locals but sometimes finance forces you to hit the internet. Just saying...

AMS tires are not the cheapest, but they are not THAT much more expensive, and I don't have to put them on myself.

it's the mounting price at AMS that i'm not a huge fan of...last time i had tires done there it was $100 just to mount and balance.  they did a great job, but really?  $100?

Randy charges $125. for 2 wheels, but IMHO it's well worth it... He spends usually over 2 hours, cleans , lubricates, adjusts, & is extremely careful handling expensive rims. He's caught more problems early on while changing tires than I care to think about. An ounce of prevention...

I think that price is the - ride in with the wheels on the bike price.  Isn't it quite a bit less if you just bring the bikeless wheels in?

I'm going with AMS; they've done the service and put tires on in the past so I think I'll just stay with them.
