Would you ride it?

I posted in the tech section a while back about an oil leak (through the crankcase breather) that left my rear tire covered in oil:

After having the bike at the dealer for a few weeks they've been unable to find any problem.  They tested compression, measured the oil displacement, dynoed it, and finally road tested it.  They couldn't identify any problems and assert that the bike is safe to ride.  But  I'm nervous about it, since they haven't changed anything there's nothing to say it won't happen again.  And it was a lot of oil coating the rear tire!  I happened to be riding with somebody, who noticed the oil burning on the exhaust.  If he hadn't been there I'm certain I would have gone down in the next left turn.

Would you ride this bike?

Considering the oil level is good now after losing that much I'd be prone to thinking it was overfilled. That said is it leaking from a line you could route away from the tire in case of future incidents? Cause a oily tire is some scary shizzle for the rizzle.

That's the obvious assumption but the bike had 2500 miles on it and the oil hadn't been changed since the 600 mile service about 9 months earlier.  So I had 9 months and 2000 miles on it with the same amount of oil.  And there was nothing exceptional about the ride where it spilled.

Yes, I was thinking of using a catch tank for the airbox breather line.  This is a common addition when converting a bike for racing.  Anybody have suggestions (placement, canister) for this on a monster (that isn't too hideously ugly)?

My daughter's Ninja 250 did the same thing. I was riding it fairly hard and oil started coming out of the breather thing. It turned out it was over full. When my husband had changed the oil, he didn't let the old oil drain out long enough. He added the full amount and there you go. (I like to blame him for all issues.) It has been fine ever since.
