A friend just bought this gsxr. Help me convince him that the suspension may have been lowered a bit, and that this is freakin' dangerous  [bang]

Is someone on his shoulders?  Buy new I always say - unless I don't, say...whatever

Bad juju. Get that bike back to stock ASAP. Lower it to drag race it... OK, sure. But why radically lower it, don't race it and then leave it semi stock? Puzzling evidence. Something is not right with this picture. Did he really know the previous owner? Maybe that could shead some light. It's got the Yosh "bling" slip-on exhausts... maybe that says it all. :P

The tripples are very low on the forks, that can't be normal (=proof?)

Nice Gixxer protective pants and boots [laugh]
252,000 km/seventeen years - loving it

We have insisted that he take it to the dealer to get it fixed. I am fairly sure that he bought it from a dealer in this condition. I will have more info tomorrow. It is scary that a bike could be sold set up like this!

Are the forks strapped down for drag racing?

It looks like that thing would bottom out on the crest of a small hill.  The forks look to be about 3" out of the triples and there seems to be only about 2" of ground clearance for the belly fairing.  I bet a panic stop would make the front wheel rub the hell out of the nose cone or bottom triple and the chin of the belly pan to eat asphalt.

I bet they sold him that a 320mm tire would look badass on that as well [laugh]

Damn, I can understand how someone without bike knowledge would fall for that, but someone experienced? maybe he was high ???

looks like that would be pretty damn dangerous to drive on the street....

i think this underscores the need for us to have a suspension set-up party in the near future...

I believe that we may have encouraged him to fix the issue. That, and he high centered on a speed bump at work today  [laugh] [laugh]
