Stem and tires don't look much like they belong on a mountain bike ;)

That is indeed a mountain stem , a reversible CODA item to go with the Cannondale ultra fatty fork. A fork that makes for a very nice mountain "road bike" setup.

I own a Cannondale Bad Boy with the HeadShok Super Fatty Ultra DLR that I offroad with. It doesn't much belong on a mountain. The 80mm monoshock is completely worthless, too. [laugh]

A badboy in the dirt with 700's ?

I find the headshock to work very well on the street with slicks , makes for a nice light fast comfortable bike with little flex in the front end.
I guess it depends on what kind of riding you do , how much you weigh and how many P.S.I. you have in the cartridge as to how a headshock performs.  :)

I very much think you should know Andy, especially with the collection you have.  ;)
